Looking for June

Someone stole June!

We have accomplished a few things in the last month including driving across the country, establishing a good summer routine in Salt Lake with swimming lessons, workbooks and cousin time, and starting the search for housing in Dallas. But in spite of all of that it seems that time is flying by unaccounted for. Alas, here comes July.

Last week I made a trip to Dallas to look for housing. Just as I finished arranging appointments with four different realtors specializing in different areas of the city & suburbs I received an email from Josh saying he was going to have to work all weekend. We had planned on doing the search together, of course. I was heartbroken and spent the rest of the evening pouting. After a good night’s sleep, however, I rallied my spirits and decided I would just go do the housing hunt myself. I have to be a Texas Woman now, after all! I flew down to Dallas, found a shuttle to take me from the airport to Josh’s office, stole his car, and went to meet the first realtor. The next several days were fun, exhausting, exciting, frustrating, and encouraging, as housing hunts always are. Josh ended up being able to join me all day Saturday and we had some fun time together over the weekend.

The results of the housing search....yet to be determined. I got a good feel for the city. We found some interesting possibilities (one that I really like!). Now we are just working on getting all of our ducks in line and deciding what will be the best for our family. Stressful but kind of fun, I suppose.

It was fun to be with Josh again. I like that guy! I was so stinking mad at him when he didn’t come pick me up at the airport, but the second I saw him I melted (and it was not just the 100 degree temperature and 70 % humidity). He’s so nice when you are with him, just a little neglectful when you are away from him.

The girls are in cousin, grandma, grandpa, aunt and uncle heaven. They were happy to see me when I got back, but after a few hugs and kisses they were off playing again. They start running the moment they wake up and don’t look back all day. Grandma Shelly made them each bow, complete with a flower holder, a quiver, and arrows. Kate announced to me that she is now a “really real Indian!” They have tea parties daily, ride bikes, plant flowers, and continue to play bad guys. Summer is such a fun time, and they are certainly making the most of it.

Next weekend we get to see Joshua again--4 days and counting! He has Friday and Monday off for the 4th of July. The girls can’t wait! Canoeing, hiking, biking, reading, and game nights, here we come.

Allyson! I had to catch up on your blog! All the fun pictures- you look fabulous and I am sincerely loving your longer locks. So chic you are!

It's hard to believe you are in TX. Shouldn't you all still be in Philly? This is all happening to fast!:) We were with Erin and Matt the other night and it's just hard to believe that you guys are now all graduated. Sheesh!

I hope the house thing comes through- don't get too down- because it just means the right one hasn't showed up yet!
