Perfect Mashed Potatoes
1 large bag russet potatoes

Take a large bag of nice Idaho potatoes to my parents' house early Thanksgiving morning. Place them carefully in the center of the kitchen counter. Mention in conversation with Alan that you have to make mashed potatoes for the family party that afternoon. Leave the house. Return two hours later to perfect, creamy, non-lumpy mashed potatoes. Take all the credit at the family party.
*note: also works with wassail!

You failed to mention that Alan's wassail recipe also comes in the exploding version. We now know that dry ice and boiling liquids are a really BAD combination. Alan really is the best substitute for a house elf!
